Frequently asked questions
What is Funklog?
Funklog is an online logbook and community for radio amateurs, CB operators and PMR446, Freenet and LoRa users – with radio chat via radio gateways, emergency communication exercises, forum, chat, radio flea market, radio map and space weather.
Which radio services does the logbook support?
Amateur radio on all bands from 160 m to 13 cm, CB radio 11 m (channels 1–80), PMR446, Freenet, LoRa/Meshtastic/MeshCore and internet radio such as SVXLink, Zello or EchoLink. The frequency is recognised and assigned to the right service, channel and band.
Can I import my existing log?
Yes. The ADIF import takes logs from Log4OM, HRD, WSJT-X, DCL and other programs – with a dry run, duplicate detection and merging. Sync with eQSL, QRZ, QRZCQ and confirmations from LoTW.
What is the radio chat via gateways?
Members open a radio chat and connect free radio gateways. What is spoken in the chat is transmitted over the air by the gateway, received radio traffic comes into the chat live. Only one person talks at a time, and a gateway always belongs to only one room.
Are there emergency communication exercises?
Yes. Joint emergency communication exercises with a control centre, situation reports, voice radio in the browser and evaluation – to practise for the real thing, also for beginners and children.
Does it cost anything?
Registration is free. There is no advertising and no tracking; data is stored encrypted on a server in Germany.
